Gunfire Erupts in Midlothian, Police Investigate Jeep Cherokee Suspects

Midlothian, IL – Police responded to gunfire near 147th Street and Turner Avenue Monday morning at 10:08 a.m. Officers found shell casings and a handgun at the scene. Witnesses reported a suspect exchanged gunfire with occupants of a silver Jeep Cherokee before fleeing.

One suspect ran into a nearby Turner Avenue apartment. With assistance from the South Suburban Emergency Response Team, officers entered the apartment and arrested the suspect. The suspects in the Jeep Cherokee fled and remain at large.

Detectives continue to investigate the incident. Authorities urge anyone with details about the suspects in the Jeep Cherokee to contact the Midlothian Police Department at 708-385-2534.

Police have not disclosed the identities of the suspects involved. Officers remained on-site Monday afternoon to collect evidence and speak with witnesses.
