Green Bay, Wis. – Isolated severe thunderstorms may develop across eastern Wisconsin on Friday, bringing the threat of gusty winds and hail up to one inch, especially in the Fox Valley region.
According to the National Weather Service in Green Bay, storms could form Friday afternoon and evening, with the greatest risk concentrated in areas like Oshkosh, Appleton, and Green Bay. While uncertainty remains about storm development, any storms that do form could produce wind gusts up to 60 mph and localized hail damage.
The highest potential for severe weather lies in the darker green zone on Friday’s storm outlook, which covers much of central and northeastern Wisconsin. Drivers on highways like I-41 and Highway 10 should remain alert for sudden downpours and debris, especially during the afternoon commute.
Residents are advised to secure outdoor items, monitor local forecasts, and have alerts enabled on their devices. Power outages and tree damage could occur if storms intensify.
Storm chances drop by late Friday evening, but additional updates may be issued as conditions evolve. Stay tuned to local emergency management and weather alerts through Friday.
