Charleston, SC – Residents in Southeast Georgia and South Carolina should prepare for freezing temperatures Friday night into Saturday morning, with lows expected to drop into the upper 20s and low 30s.
According to the National Weather Service, a Freeze Watch has been issued for areas including Charleston, Savannah, and surrounding regions. Frost and freezing conditions could pose risks to sensitive plants and outdoor plumbing. The advisory is in effect from midnight Friday through Saturday morning.
Daytime temperatures on Friday will hover around the low 50s, with mostly sunny skies. However, by Friday night, clear skies and calm winds will allow temperatures to plummet. Those traveling along I-95 and I-26 early Saturday morning should be cautious of potential frost on roads.
The weekend will remain chilly, with highs reaching the mid-50s on Saturday and Sunday. Overnight lows will again dip into the low 30s. By Monday, temperatures are expected to rise slightly, with highs in the 60s returning early next week.
For Black Friday shoppers and weekend travelers, it’s a good idea to dress in layers and check local forecasts for updates. Stay vigilant and take proactive steps to prevent cold-weather damage to homes and gardens.
