San Angelo, TX – A freeze watch is in effect for tonight across west-central Texas, including cities along the I-20 corridor, as temperatures are expected to drop into the upper 20s to lower 30s. According to the National Weather Service, the coldest conditions will occur between midnight and 9 a.m. Friday, with rural and low-lying areas most at risk for frost and freeze damage.

Residents are advised to take precautions immediately. Sensitive vegetation should be covered or brought indoors, and outdoor plumbing, such as sprinkler systems and exposed pipes, should be wrapped or drained to prevent damage. Pets should also be sheltered from the cold, as overnight temperatures may be hazardous.

Thanksgiving Day will remain cool, with breezy north-northeast winds and highs near 56 degrees. Skies will clear gradually into Friday, offering sunny but chilly weather for Black Friday shoppers. Friday morning will be the coldest point of the week, but a warming trend is expected for the weekend, with highs reaching the mid-60s by Saturday and Sunday.

Motorists traveling early Friday, particularly on I-20, should allow extra time and remain cautious of possible frost on bridges and overpasses. Stay updated with local forecasts as temperatures continue to shift.
