Glendale Heights, IL – A fourteen-year-old boy from Glendale Heights has been detained after allegedly bringing a loaded gun to Glenbard East High School. DuPage County Judge Demetrios Panoushis ordered the juvenile to remain in custody pending his next court date.
The incident occurred on September 10, 2024, when a student discovered a loaded 9 mm handgun in a boys’ bathroom. The student promptly reported the weapon to school security. Lombard police traced the firearm to the juvenile’s home in Glendale Heights, leading to his arrest. The teen faces charges of Unlawful Use of a Weapon in a School and Possession of a Firearm by a Minor.
The juvenile’s next court appearance is scheduled for September 16. Authorities remind the public that the teen is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
