Goldfield, NV – Four earthquakes rocked the area near Goldfield, Nevada, on Wednesday, shaking the small town within hours. The first earthquake, a magnitude 2.6, hit at 1:24 p.m., followed by a 3.1 magnitude quake at 2:31 p.m. Just minutes later, at 2:30 p.m., a 2.9 magnitude tremor struck. A fourth quake, registering 2.7 magnitude, was recorded at 9:49 p.m. Pacific Time.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), all four quakes were shallow, with depths ranging from 2.9 to 8.8 kilometers. Although no injuries or damages have been reported, the strongest quake, at 3.1 magnitude, was widely felt across nearby communities.

Residents are encouraged to submit reports through the USGS “Did You Feel It?” platform to assist scientists in mapping the quake’s effects. While Nevada is no stranger to seismic activity, the series of earthquakes in such a short span has raised concerns about potential aftershocks. Local officials urge preparedness as they monitor further developments.
