Milwaukee, WI – The National Weather Service in Milwaukee/Sullivan has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for portions of east-central and southeast Wisconsin, in effect from 6 p.m. Tuesday to 6 a.m. Wednesday.
Forecasters expect wet, accumulating snow to begin Tuesday evening, bringing 2 to 5 inches of snowfall to areas including Fond du Lac, Sheboygan, Columbia, Dodge, and Washington counties. Snowfall rates may reach half an inch per hour, leading to slippery and snow-covered roads during the overnight hours.
According to the advisory, some areas could see a brief mix of rain or freezing rain late Tuesday night before transitioning back to light snow early Wednesday morning. The combination of moisture and freezing temperatures may create hazardous travel conditions, particularly for those commuting or traveling along Highways 41, 151, and I-43.
Drivers are urged to slow down, allow extra travel time, and check updated road conditions through 511 Wisconsin before heading out.
