Perry County, IN – A Florida man was arrested Friday after overturning his truck on Interstate 64, blocking traffic for an hour. Jeffrey Kessinger, 57, of New Port Richey, Florida, was allegedly impaired while driving near mile marker 73, resulting in the incident.
According to Indiana State Police, Trooper Andrew Recker arrived on the scene to find Kessinger’s truck, pulling a box trailer, overturned and blocking the interstate. Kessinger allegedly displayed visible signs of impairment and was transported to Perry County Memorial Hospital for chemical testing and medical clearance.
Kessinger was arrested and charged with obstruction of justice and operating a vehicle while intoxicated, both Level 6 felonies. He was also charged with disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor. The Perry County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene, ensuring the interstate reopened after an hour. Kessinger is being held at Perry County Jail pending bond.
