Tuscola, IL – Authorities are searching for two cows still missing after capturing three of the animals over the past two days. The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office reported that local cowboys and cowgirls from Illinois and Indiana are helping with the search.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the two remaining cows were last seen in an area southeast of Tuscola. They are believed to be bedding down between County Roads 1100E and 1275E (CH-9), and 700N and 800N. The cows have access to water from drainage ditches like the Scattering Fork and plenty of grass for grazing, so food and water are not a concern.

Authorities encourage anyone who spots the cows to call the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office at 217-253-2913. The Sheriff’s Office will pass information to the cowboys involved in the search. Officials are hopeful the cows will be captured soon with the help of the community.
