Tallahassee, FL – Flood warnings remain in effect across several rivers in northern Florida, with minor flooding reported and expected to continue through the week. The National Weather Service (NWS) has extended warnings for the St. Marks River near Newport, the Aucilla River at Lamont, and the St. Mary’s River at Macclenny.

According to the NWS, the St. Marks River reached 8.1 feet Wednesday morning, just above the 8.0-foot flood stage. Water has begun to encroach on yards near Old Magnolia Road in Wakulla County. The river is expected to crest at 8.1 feet before receding below flood stage later tonight.

Meanwhile, the Aucilla River at Lamont measured 53.7 feet Wednesday morning, exceeding its 53.0-foot flood stage. Forecasts indicate the river will remain above flood levels until Saturday evening, potentially impacting low-lying areas in Taylor, Madison, and Jefferson counties.
