Glenmora, LA – A flood warning remains in effect for the Calcasieu River near Glenmora as minor flooding continues, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Lake Charles. Water levels are expected to remain above flood stage until early Friday morning.
According to the NWS, as of 9:45 a.m. Wednesday, the river was measured at 12.3 feet, just above the 12.0-foot flood stage. The highest recorded level in the past 24 hours was 12.4 feet. The river is projected to gradually recede, falling to 12.1 feet by Thursday afternoon and below flood stage by early Friday. Further decline is expected, with water levels forecasted to drop to 10.8 feet by Monday morning.
The impact of flooding at 12.0 feet mainly affects forested areas near the river. While no major threats to property or infrastructure have been reported, residents in low-lying areas should remain alert and exercise caution.
