New Ipswich, N.H. — Two people are dead, and one is seriously injured after a two-vehicle crash early Thursday morning in New Ipswich. The accident occurred at the intersection of Turnpike Road and Temple Road.

According to the New Hampshire State Police, the crash happened around 12:05 a.m. A 1996 Honda Del Sol driven by Devin Lundgren, 21, collided with a 2015 Dodge Ram. Investigators say the Honda was heading north on Turnpike Road when it collided with the southbound Dodge as it made a left turn.

Lundgren and his passenger, James Barna, 18, of Sharon, were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Dodge, Samuel Wheeler, 36, of Greenville, suffered serious injuries. Medical responders airlifted Wheeler to UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester.

While authorities suspect speed may have contributed to the crash, the investigation is ongoing.
