Renville County, ND – A motorcycle crash in Renville County claimed the life of a female passenger and left the driver seriously injured Thursday.

According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, a 2006 Harley Davidson motorcycle was eastbound on County Road 26 near Grano when it failed to negotiate a curve. The bike veered off the road, leading to the fatal crash. The driver, who was not identified, sustained serious injuries and was transported to Trinity Hospital in Minot. The female passenger died at the scene.

Neither rider was wearing a helmet, authorities reported. Investigators noted that the driver lacked a motorcycle endorsement and was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash. Charges are pending as the investigation continues.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol has urged motorcyclists to wear helmets and ride sober to prevent further tragedies on the road. No further details about the identities of those involved have been released.
