Peoria County, IL – A three-vehicle collision on Thursday evening left one driver dead and multiple people injured.

Deputies with the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office responded to the crash at the intersection of Hanna City Glasford Road and Lancaster Road at 5:15 p.m. Authorities discovered a Ford van that had rolled over and killed its only occupant.

Preliminary findings show the van, traveling south, struck a BMW traveling in the same direction. The van flipped multiple times before colliding head-on with a GMC SUV traveling north. The BMW’s occupants, a 76-year-old man and a 77-year-old woman, were hospitalized with minor injuries.

The GMC had two passengers, a 65-year-old man and a 13-year-old boy, both of whom were transported to OSF with serious injuries. Emergency responders, including Air Evac and local fire services, assisted at the scene.

The Sheriff’s Office has not determined if the crash was intentional or due to medical causes. The investigation is ongoing, and the deceased’s identity will be released after coroner notifications.
