Houston, TX – Houston residents are advised of potential traffic delays on Tuesday, Oct. 1, due to the funeral motorcade for fallen Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Trooper Kevin Ramirez Vasquez.
Trooper Vasquez died on Sept. 28 from injuries sustained during a crash investigation in Ector County. His motorcade will begin at Houston Executive Airport at approximately 1:45 p.m. and travel to Brookside Funeral Home. According to DPS, drivers should expect delays along several major Houston roads.
The procession route includes Cardiff Road to US-90, east on US-90 to Igloo Road, north on Igloo Road to I-10, eastbound to the Sam Houston Tollway, north to US-290, westbound to SH-6, and south on SH-6 to Brookside Funeral Home.
DPS urges drivers to allow extra time, reduce speeds, and avoid distractions if traveling along the route. Traffic may stop unexpectedly throughout the procession.
