Las Vegas, Nev. – Triple-digit temperatures could push Las Vegas and surrounding areas into dangerous territory starting Friday morning, as an Extreme Heat Warning goes into effect through late Saturday night.
According to the National Weather Service in Las Vegas, the warning begins at 9 a.m. Friday and continues until 11 p.m. Saturday. Highs in the Las Vegas Valley, including North Las Vegas and Henderson, are expected to range from 105°F to 109°F. Death Valley may see temperatures exceed 115°F.
Communities across southern Nevada and eastern California—including Pahrump, Barstow, Moapa, and Laughlin—should prepare for peak afternoon heat and poor overnight cooling. The risk of heat-related illness will be high, especially for those without access to air conditioning.
Residents are urged to stay hydrated, avoid outdoor activity during peak hours, and check on vulnerable neighbors. Those without shelter are advised to seek out cooling centers, which may open as temperatures rise.
Heat warnings remain in effect through Saturday night. More advisories could be issued if the heat lingers into Sunday.
