Elmhurst, Ill. — Elmhurst Police issued a traffic notice for Saturday, May 31. The Dan Gibbons Twilight Trot 5k will run from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The course will go through southeast Elmhurst and western Berkeley neighborhoods near the Prairie Path.
City streets on the course will be closed during this time. Parts of South Street, Poplar Ave, Niagara Ave and Vallette Street will be closed. Smaller road closings include Stratford Ave, Crescent Ave and Edgewood Ave. A course map with all road closures was posted with the traffic notice on Facebook.
The Elmhurst Police Department also asks residents to park outside of the race course if traveling during the event times posted. The department asks drivers to follow road closure signs and not to cross roadway barriers.
The annual Dan Gibbons Turkey Trot in November has been raising money for hunger needs for over 40 years. The Dan Gibbons Twilight Trot in June is meant to help further support the Dan Gibbons foundation with another fundraiser race halfway through the year.
