Elmhurst, IL – A student made a suspicious comment at Churchville Middle School, leading to a quick investigation by local police. The Elmhurst Police Department received reports of the comment late Tuesday.

According to District 205, police promptly identified the students involved and investigated the situation. Officers worked closely with the school and families to ensure safety. After speaking with those involved, they determined the comment did not represent a credible threat.

Both the Elmhurst Police Department and school staff reassured the community that students and staff were safe. The school plans to follow the Comprehensive School Threat Assessment Guidelines (CSTAG) for further review.

Churchville Middle School urges parents to continue talking with their children about responsible behavior online and at school.
