Spokane, Wash. – Scorching heat will dominate Eastern Washington this weekend, but relief is on the way by midweek. Spokane is set to climb toward 99°F Monday and Tuesday before temperatures ease into the 80s by Friday. A National Weather Service heat advisory remains in effect until 9 p.m. Tuesday.
According to the National Weather Service in Spokane, widespread morning haze will give way to blazing afternoons, with highs reaching the upper 90s through early next week. Overnight lows in the 60s won’t offer much cooling, keeping conditions dangerous for those without air conditioning.
The advisory covers much of Eastern Washington, including Spokane, Cheney, and surrounding counties, where triple-digit heat and hazy skies could strain both health and air quality. Officials urge residents to avoid strenuous activity in the afternoon, use cooling shelters if necessary, and check on vulnerable neighbors.
While heat holds firm through Tuesday night, forecasters say a cooler pattern will take over midweek, bringing Spokane back into the upper 80s by Thursday and Friday.
