Harrisburg, PA – Eastern Pennsylvania is under a severe thunderstorm watch until 10 PM tonight, with the potential for strong and damaging storms across the region. The National Weather Service’s Storm Prediction Center has issued Severe Thunderstorm Watch #634, which includes much of eastern Pennsylvania.

Thunderstorms are expected to intensify this afternoon as temperatures rise and cloud cover erodes. The primary threats include damaging wind gusts up to 70 mph, frequent lightning, and isolated hail up to ping pong ball size. Initial thunderstorms have already begun forming over the Appalachian Mountains, with additional storms likely to move eastward into the lower elevations by evening.

Residents are advised to stay updated on weather conditions and be prepared for severe weather. The watch will remain in effect until 10 PM, and residents should take any necessary precautions to protect themselves and their property.
