Pittsburgh, PA – Severe storms are expected to impact Western Pennsylvania, Eastern Ohio, and Northern West Virginia on Wednesday. Damaging winds, large hail, and heavy downpours are the primary threats. The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh has placed much of the region under a Level 2 slight risk for severe weather.

Two rounds of storms are forecasted. The first wave is expected in the morning, followed by a more intense second wave in the late afternoon and evening. While timing is uncertain, the second round poses the greatest risk.

According to the National Weather Service, damaging winds could exceed 75 mph, and hail could reach two inches in diameter. Residents should stay alert, monitor weather updates, and be prepared for possible warnings.

The severe weather could disrupt daily activities and cause localized damage. Those in the affected areas should secure outdoor items and prepare for potential power outages. The region will remain under a slight risk throughout Wednesday.
