Kankakee, IL – The National Weather Service has issued Severe Thunderstorm Watch 658, which is in effect until 11 p.m. CDT for central, north-central, and northeast Illinois, including Kankakee County. This watch extends to northwest Indiana and covers 18 counties in Illinois and five in Indiana.
According to the National Weather Service, areas under the watch include major cities like Chicago, Rockford, Joliet, and Kankakee, as well as parts of northwest Indiana, including Gary and Valparaiso. Residents are urged to stay informed and take precautions as severe thunderstorms may produce damaging winds, large hail, and heavy rainfall.
