St. Louis, MO – The remnants of Potential Tropical Cyclone Nine are expected to bring heavy rain and possible flash flooding to eastern Missouri by Saturday morning.
The NWS forecasts that St. Louis and surrounding areas will see up to three inches of rain, which could lead to localized flooding, especially in low-lying and riverbank areas. The Mississippi River’s water levels may rise, exacerbating the risk of flooding.
Residents should avoid driving on flooded roads and stay updated on flood warnings. Emergency officials are urging residents in flood-prone areas to make necessary preparations and stay off the roads during heavy downpours.
Rain from the remnants will persist through Saturday, with the system expected to clear out by Sunday, leaving behind cooler and drier weather.
