Kansas City, MO – Morning storms are expected across eastern Kansas and northern Missouri on Sunday, bringing wind gusts up to 50 mph. The US National Weather Service Kansas City reported that while severe weather is not anticipated, the storms could still impact the region with strong winds and brief heavy rain.

According to the National Weather Service, the storms are likely to develop early in the morning and continue through midday. Residents in the affected areas should be prepared for sudden changes in weather conditions, including potential power outages and minor property damage due to high winds.

Temperatures will remain above normal throughout the day, with highs reaching the upper 80s to mid-90s. Heat index values are expected to range between 95 and 100, adding to the discomfort. The warm and humid conditions are forecasted to persist through the week, increasing the risk of heat-related illnesses.

Residents are advised to secure outdoor objects that could be blown away and stay indoors during periods of high winds. Motorists should exercise caution, especially on open roads and highways where gusts could affect vehicle stability.
