DuPage County, Ill. — The DuPage County Historical Museum has several new exhibits coming in 2025, including one opening June 14.

On June 11, the DuPage County Historical Museum posted photos of a new exhibit “Tense Times: The Cold War in DuPage County.” The museum shared the exhibit was being worked on by the curator and museum intern. It will be open to the public beginning June 14, 2025 and is available until March 21, 2026. The exhibit explains the effects of the Cold War on DuPage County and DuPage residents.

“Woven Together” is a changing exhibit opening July 12, 2025 through April 11, 2026. The exhibit will display coverlets along with their stories and history. The exhibit will explain how the textiles are made.

“The Cabinet of Curiosities” is another changing exhibit that will run from September 13, 2025 through May 30, 2026. The rotating display will feature over 40,000 artifacts that may have been never before seen in the museum.

In August, the Daughters of the American Revolution and the American Battlefield Trust partnered to exhibit a traveling collection. “The American Revolution Experience” will run August 17 through 28. The display will commemorate the 250th anniversary of United States independence. The temporary exhibit will feature characters from revolutionary times, giving visitors a view into their experience with the war. It will also feature panels and digital kiosks for an interactive learning experience through storytelling, illustration and technology. Primary accounts and unique artifacts will illuminate the history of this period in American history.
