Dodge County, WI Pedestrian Struck at McDonald’s Identified as Investigation Continues

Lomira, WI – Authorities have identified the pedestrian who suffered serious injuries after being struck by a pickup truck near a McDonald’s restaurant in Lomira earlier this month.

According to the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office, the pedestrian was identified as David Scott, 63, of Brookfield. Officials also identified the pickup truck driver as Tristen Gallagher, 18, of Campbellsport.

The crash occurred at approximately 6:30 a.m. on Friday, June 19, when deputies responded to a report of a pickup truck colliding with a pedestrian near the drive-thru area of the McDonald’s restaurant at 630 East Ave. in Lomira.

Investigators said Scott had parked his vehicle and was walking toward the restaurant when he was struck by the pickup truck. The collision occurred in a drive-thru lane on the property.

Scott sustained serious, potentially life-threatening injuries and was flown by medical helicopter to Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee for treatment, according to authorities.

The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office said Gallagher remained at the scene following the crash and has been cooperating with the investigation.

The restaurant remained open after the incident, although the drive-thru area was temporarily closed while investigators processed the scene.

Officials said the crash remains under investigation by the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office Crash Investigation Team. No additional information regarding possible citations or charges has been released.

Multiple agencies responded to the scene, including Lomira First Responders, the Lomira Fire Department, Mayville EMS, Fond du Lac Paramedics, Knowles Fire Department, and Flight For Life.
