Detroit, Michigan – A sharp warmup is set to sweep across Southeast Michigan, sending temperatures from near freezing Tuesday morning to near 70 degrees by Thursday, with rain likely to disrupt late-week travel.

According to the National Weather Service in Detroit/Pontiac, Tuesday will stay sunny but cool, with highs ranging from 32 to 40 degrees and light winds. Overnight lows will dip into the 20s before a steady warming trend begins midweek.

By Wednesday, temperatures climb into the upper 40s to upper 50s across Metro Detroit, including Ann Arbor and Pontiac, setting the stage for a much warmer Thursday. Highs are expected to reach between 62 and 70 degrees, though increasing cloud cover will signal the next system.

Rain chances rise to around 50% Thursday and increase further into Friday, when highs settle in the 50s to mid-60s. Showers could impact both the morning and evening commutes, especially along major corridors like I-94 and I-75.

Saturday brings slightly cooler but calmer conditions, with highs in the upper 40s to upper 50s under partly cloudy skies.

Drivers should prepare for changing conditions late week, with wet roads and reduced visibility possible during heavier showers. Additional updates may follow as rain timing becomes more precise.
