Laurel, DE — Even a simple taco joint isn’t safe anymore, as a hammer-wielding suspect violently robbed a local restaurant, shaking up the community.
On Sunday at Tacos Chabelita on Sussex Highway, a man entered around 10:22 p.m., attacking employees and stealing cash. The suspect assaulted one victim, smashed windows, and damaged a car before fleeing. The victims suffered minor injuries, but the emotional toll on the neighborhood runs deeper.
According to Delaware State Police, the suspect is a Black male, 5’10” to 6’02”, wearing gray sweatpants and a white or black shirt. Authorities are still searching for him.
