Peoria, IL – Police arrested a 25-year-old Peoria mother in connection with her baby’s death on Monday. Officers responded to the 2400 block of N. Peoria Avenue around 7:03 p.m. on a report of an unresponsive baby.
When police arrived, they found a baby not breathing and unresponsive. The child was pronounced dead on the scene. The Peoria County Coroner will release the baby’s age and cause of death. The Peoria Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division and other units responded and launched an investigation.
According to the Peoria Police Department, detectives detained the baby’s mother, Andrea N. Luncsford, during their investigation. She was later arrested and charged with Endangering the Health and Life of a Child. Luncsford was transported to the Peoria County Jail.
