Dearborn, MI – An armed robbery at a Dearborn jewelry store on Wednesday evening has prompted an urgent investigation by local police. The incident occurred on the city’s east side around 5:30 p.m. in the 7000 block of Schaefer Road, when two masked men entered the store, armed with a rifle, and demanded that all employees and customers get on the ground.
According to the Dearborn Police Department, one suspect held the victims at gunpoint while the other ransacked the store, filling a bag with various items. The suspects fled the scene in a black sedan, possibly a 2011-2013 Mazda 3, with noticeable paint peeling on the hood and trunk. An employee fired several rounds at the suspects as they escaped, but it remains unclear if either was injured.
No employees or customers were harmed during the robbery. The police are now seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspects and the vehicle involved. Anyone with information is urged to contact Sergeant Jamison Carpenter or submit an anonymous tip through CrimeStoppers.
