Davenport Police Capture Suspect After High-Speed Chase on I-280

Davenport, IA – Davenport Police arrested Steven K. Bolio, 32, after a stolen vehicle investigation escalated into a high-speed pursuit on Monday. Bolio allegedly brandished a BB gun during the chase, which ended on Interstate 280 eastbound near mile marker seven when he lost control of the vehicle and crashed in the median.

According to police, the incident began around 3:01 PM when the complainant located their stolen vehicle in the 2300 block of W 49th Street. Bolio allegedly attempted to strike the complainant with the vehicle before fleeing the scene. Officers quickly located the stolen vehicle and attempted to initiate a traffic stop, but Bolio refused to comply, leading to the pursuit.

During the chase, Bolio reportedly pointed the BB gun at officers multiple times. Davenport Fire and Medic EMS responded to the scene, and Bolio was transported to a local hospital for evaluation of non-life-threatening injuries. No other injuries were reported.

Bolio faces multiple charges, including felony eluding, assault while participating in a felony, and theft second degree.
