Chicago Man with Warrants in Four States Arrested in Illinois

Chicago, IL – A Chicago man wanted on multiple burglary charges was arrested in Lee County on Saturday, bringing an end to his alleged multi-state crime spree.

Jakob G. Dowling, 23, was apprehended at approximately 4:30 a.m. at the American Auto Wash on E. Wasson Road in Amboy. According to Lee County Deputies, they responded to a report of a suspicious person and reportedly found Dowling with damaged property and burglary tools.

Dowling faces several charges, including burglary, a Class 2 felony, possession of burglary tools, criminal damage to property, and obstructing justice, all Class 4 felonies. Deputies also discovered Dowling had outstanding warrants in Cook County for burglary, Lake County for failure to appear on retail theft charges, Kenosha County, Wisconsin for felony retail theft, and Des Moines County, Iowa for possession of a controlled substance.

Dowling is currently in custody at the Lee County Jail.
