Danville, IL – Life Sentence Secured for 22-Year-Old in Triple Homicide Case

A Danville man received a life sentence for the 2020 murders of three elderly men in Danville.

According to Vermilion County State’s Attorney Jacqueline Lacy, Cloanger Robinson, 22, was sentenced to natural life in prison by Circuit Judge Derek Girton on Wednesday. Robinson was convicted of First Degree Murder on May 24 for the brutal killings of Nathaniel Gentry, Anthony Jones, and Cordell Reed.

State’s Attorney Lacy highlighted the heinous nature of Robinson’s actions, noting the significant emotional impact on the victims’ families. Judge Girton emphasized the overwhelming evidence and premeditation involved, calling the crimes “brutal and senseless.”
