Fort Worth, TX – The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for North and Central Texas, including the Fort Worth area, effective through Thursday evening. Temperatures are expected to reach afternoon highs of up to 107°F, with heat index values soaring as high as 112°F. Residents are urged to take necessary precautions to avoid heat-related illnesses.
According to the NWS, the heat advisory is driven by high temperatures ranging from 10 to 15 degrees above normal. This extreme heat, combined with dry conditions, is also increasing the risk of wildfires, particularly west of I-35. The advisory includes a warning to never leave children or pets unattended in vehicles, to drink plenty of water, and to wear lightweight, light-colored clothing to stay cool.
Wednesday and Thursday are forecasted to be the hottest days, with high temperatures consistently reaching or exceeding 103°F. As the week progresses, slightly cooler weather is expected, with Friday seeing a drop to a high of 98°F. However, the triple-digit heat will return over the weekend, with highs around 100°F on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.
