Crestwood, IL – A homicide investigation is underway after a man was found dead amid heavy smoke inside a Crestwood business last Wednesday.

According to the Crestwood Police Department, emergency crews responded around 4:05 p.m. to ATG Truckload at 13835 S. Kostner, where they discovered the body of Dane Koletski on the second floor. While the fire was quickly extinguished, investigators launched an arson probe alongside a homicide investigation.

Authorities identified a suspect, who was reportedly an employee of Koletski. The individual was arrested early Thursday morning at a truck stop in Holland, Michigan, with assistance from Holland police.

The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office ruled the death a homicide due to neck injuries from a sharp object. The suspect remains in custody in Michigan on a murder warrant, awaiting extradition to Illinois.
