Corpus Christi, TX – South Texas residents and visitors should brace for heightened weather risks along the coast, as moderate rip currents and strong winds create hazardous conditions through Wednesday. The National Weather Service in Corpus Christi has issued a Small Craft Advisory, warning of elevated seas between 5 and 7 feet and sustained winds up to 25 mph.

Beachgoers are urged to exercise caution near piers and jetties, with rip current risks at moderate levels today. If planning to enter the water, heed warnings and follow safety protocols: swim near lifeguard stations, avoid risky areas, and don’t fight the current if caught. Southeast winds are expected to gust up to 29 mph, creating challenging conditions for small craft operators and beach visitors alike.

Today’s high temperatures will reach the upper 80s to lower 90s across the region, while tonight brings mild conditions with lows in the mid to upper 70s under partly cloudy skies. According to the National Weather Service, moderate risks for rip currents are forecast for multiple days, emphasizing the need for continued caution.

Looking ahead, rain chances are set to increase midweek. Showers and thunderstorms are possible from Thursday onwards, with a 40% chance of precipitation extending through Saturday. Daytime highs will remain steady in the low 80s, with nighttime lows in the 70s, providing humid yet warm conditions. By the weekend, rain chances will decrease slightly, but occasional thunderstorms may linger.
