Marlborough, CT – Connecticut State Police are searching for a motorcyclist, dubbed the “Deadpool” rider, who led a trooper on a high-speed chase at 134 mph on Route 2 eastbound near Exit 13 in Marlborough early Wednesday morning.
The incident began around 6:45 a.m. when a Trooper from the Traffic Services Unit clocked the motorcycle speeding with a laser unit. The motorcyclist, who sported a helmet featuring a “Deadpool” sticker, initially slowed down but then accelerated away when the Trooper attempted to initiate a traffic stop. The ensuing pursuit was terminated as the motorcycle sped off, evading capture.
The motorcycle was displaying a canceled Connecticut plate, number 896674, which was being used improperly. Despite the Trooper’s efforts, the rider managed to escape, raising concerns about public safety on the state’s highways.
Connecticut State Police are appealing to the public for help in identifying the “Deadpool” motorcyclist. Anyone with information is asked to contact Connecticut State Police Troop K in Colchester at 860-465-5400, referencing case number 2400308190. All tips can remain anonymous.
