New York, NY – A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for parts of Connecticut, New York, and New Jersey, with a mix of freezing rain and sleet expected to create hazardous travel conditions late Sunday into Monday morning.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS), the advisory begins at 10 p.m. Sunday for Western Passaic County in New Jersey and Orange, Putnam, Rockland, and Northern Westchester Counties in New York. For Northern Fairfield and Northern New Haven Counties in Connecticut, the advisory starts at 1 a.m. Monday. All advisories will expire by 9 a.m.

The forecast includes light ice accumulations ranging from a glaze to a few hundredths of an inch, potentially creating slippery roads and making Monday morning commutes treacherous.

Drivers are urged to slow down, exercise caution, and stay updated on road conditions through local Department of Transportation channels. The NWS also advises commuters to plan extra travel time and be prepared for delays.
