New York, NY – A winter weather advisory remains in effect for parts of southern Connecticut, northeast New Jersey, and southeast New York from noon Saturday until early Sunday morning, with snow, sleet, and ice expected to impact travel.

According to the National Weather Service, areas including Fairfield, New Haven, Middlesex, and New London counties in Connecticut, as well as Passaic and Bergen counties in New Jersey, could see snow and sleet accumulations between 1 and 4 inches, along with up to a quarter-inch of ice. The advisory extends to Orange, Putnam, Rockland, and Westchester counties in New York.

The heaviest precipitation is expected Saturday afternoon into the evening, making roads slick and potentially hazardous. Ice accumulation could create dangerous walking conditions on sidewalks, driveways, and stairs.

Drivers are urged to slow down and use caution, as untreated roads may become slippery. Officials recommend checking local Department of Transportation resources for updated road conditions.

The advisory remains in effect until 7 a.m. Sunday for northern areas and until 1 a.m. Sunday for southern locations. Residents should prepare for winter travel delays and use extra caution when venturing outside.
