Pueblo, CO – A winter weather advisory remains in effect for Colorado’s high-elevation areas, with heavy snowfall and strong winds expected through Tuesday morning.

According to the National Weather Service in Pueblo, the advisory covers the Eastern Sawatch Mountains and the Western Mosquito Range, including Bonanza and Climax. Snow accumulations between 2 and 9 inches are possible, with wind gusts reaching up to 55 mph. The advisory remains in place until 11 a.m. MST on Tuesday.

Travel conditions could become hazardous due to blowing snow and reduced visibility. Drivers are urged to slow down and use caution, especially on mountain roads. Officials recommend checking the latest road conditions by dialing 511.

This winter storm adds to Colorado’s already active snow season, with mountain regions frequently experiencing heavy precipitation. The combination of snow and high winds could lead to whiteout conditions at times.

Residents and travelers in the affected areas should prepare for rapidly changing weather and potential delays. For updated forecasts and safety recommendations, visit the National Weather Service website at www.weather.gov/pub.
