Wyoming and Nebraska: Snow, High Winds, and Bitter Cold Expected This Week

Cheyenne, WY – A winter storm and extreme cold are sweeping across southeast Wyoming and the Nebraska Panhandle, bringing heavy snowfall and dangerous wind chills. Winter Weather Advisories remain in effect across the region, with snow accumulations ranging from 2 to 5 inches in the plains and up to 2 feet in the mountains.

According to the National Weather Service in Cheyenne, Winter Storm Warnings for the Snowy and Sierra Madre Ranges remain active until 11 p.m. Monday. Light to heavy snow is expected through at least Tuesday, with the potential for snow squalls and hazardous travel conditions.

An arctic front is also pushing through, dropping wind chills to dangerous levels. The Nebraska Panhandle is under an Extreme Cold Warning through Thursday morning, with wind chills potentially falling as low as -35°F. Cold Weather Advisories are also in effect for parts of southeast Wyoming through Tuesday morning.

Residents are urged to limit outdoor exposure, cover exposed skin, and stay updated on local forecasts. Travel may become hazardous due to blowing snow and reduced visibility.
