Grand Junction, CO – Western Colorado faces snow and dangerously low temperatures starting Monday, with Grand Junction and nearby areas expecting up to 8 inches of snow and wind chills well below zero. Travel along the I-70 corridor will be hazardous, with snow accumulation and icy roads anticipated throughout the week.

According to the National Weather Service in Grand Junction, light snow will begin Monday morning, becoming moderate in the afternoon, especially in higher elevations above 8,000 feet, where 4-8 inches are expected. Lower elevations will see lighter accumulations but face wind chills near 0°F by midweek.

Another system will bring additional snowfall late Monday through Friday, particularly impacting northern and central mountain regions. Residents should prepare for potential delays, icy roads, and dangerous driving conditions. Emergency officials advise carrying winter survival kits in vehicles and limiting travel when possible.

Daytime highs will hover around the low 50s Sunday but will drop to near freezing Monday, with nighttime lows in the 20s. Winds from the northwest will intensify the cold, making outdoor activities risky. Residents are urged to stay updated on weather alerts and plan accordingly as Arctic conditions grip much of the U.S. this week.
