Colorado Springs, CO – Dense fog is reducing visibility to as low as 200 yards across El Paso County this morning, making travel hazardous, especially along I-25 and surrounding roads. Motorists are advised to drive slowly, use headlights, and maintain a safe distance from other vehicles. The National Weather Service has issued a Dense Fog Advisory in effect until 9 a.m. MST.

According to the National Weather Service in Pueblo, freezing fog will linger through the morning, followed by mostly sunny conditions this afternoon with highs near 38°F. However, a more severe weather pattern is expected early next week, with snow likely Monday night into Tuesday and temperatures dropping to single digits by Tuesday night. Snow accumulations of up to half an inch are possible by Monday evening.

Rain and snow showers will begin Monday afternoon, especially in northern and eastern Colorado Springs. Winds from the southeast at 5-10 mph will add to the chill, with temperatures struggling to reach above 24°F on Tuesday. Residents are encouraged to prepare for icy roads and bitter wind chills throughout the week. Ensure vehicles are winter-ready, keep emergency kits handy, and limit travel during low visibility and snowfall periods.
