Colorado Springs, CO – Dense fog is blanketing parts of El Paso County early Saturday, significantly reducing visibility and creating hazardous travel conditions. The National Weather Service issued a Dense Fog Advisory in effect until 10 a.m. MDT, urging drivers to exercise caution on roads throughout the region.
According to the NWS, visibility will drop to a quarter mile or less in some areas, particularly between midnight and 9 a.m. Saturday. The thick fog is expected to impact key areas including Colorado Springs, Black Forest, and Peterson Space Force Base, where low visibility could pose risks for motorists, especially during the early morning hours.
Residents and travelers are advised to slow down, use headlights, and maintain extra distance between vehicles. The advisory covers all of El Paso County, where conditions are likely to remain difficult for morning commuters. Travel disruptions are possible, and some secondary roads may be affected more severely by the fog.
The advisory will remain in place until 10 a.m. Saturday, but additional alerts could follow if conditions persist. Drivers should stay alert and check local traffic updates before heading out.
