Burlington, VT – Vermont residents should expect a chilly night as temperatures plunge 10-15 degrees below normal. The National Weather Service forecasts overnight lows ranging from the mid-teens to low 20s across much of the state.

Clear skies will accompany the cold front, which is also expected to bring calm winds by midnight. The region will experience some of its coldest temperatures this spring, with many northern areas dipping to as low as 13°F. Areas like Newcomb and Saranac Lake will see temperatures in the low teens, while more southern regions like Manchester and Rutland will stay a bit warmer, around 18°F to 21°F.

The NWS urges Vermonters to take precautions to protect plants and pets from the cold. With high pressure aloft, conditions should improve tomorrow, but travelers are advised to dress warmly and prepare for a brisk, frosty start to Thursday.
