Burlington, VT – A bitter cold night is ahead for Vermont, with wind chills dipping as low as -10°F and gusty winds creating dangerous conditions for residents. The National Weather Service warns that northwest winds of 20-35 mph will cause areas of blowing and drifting snow, reducing visibility on roadways and increasing the risk of frostbite for those exposed to the elements.

Tuesday will bring partly sunny skies with a high of 13°F, but brisk winds will keep wind chills in the negative single digits. Tuesday night sees a slight chance of snow showers before skies turn mostly cloudy, with a low near 3°F.

Wednesday will be slightly warmer, reaching 17°F under mostly sunny skies, though wind chills could still make it feel below zero. Snow chances increase late Thursday, with a 40% likelihood of afternoon snow showers. Highs will climb to 21°F, followed by a cold Thursday night with lows near 12°F.

Friday remains partly sunny and cold, with highs around 23°F. By the weekend, temperatures will begin to rise, with Saturday reaching 27°F as an Arctic front moves out, offering some relief from the deep freeze.
