Chicago Residents Charged After 30-Min Retail Theft Spree at Macy’s and Nordstrom

Oak Brook, IL – Four Chicago residents face charges after a 30-minute retail theft spree at Macy’s and Nordstrom in Oak Brook. The suspects, Talia Martinez-Pacheco, 23, Santiago Rojas-Galea, 18, Cheryl Gryer, 26, and Daiveon Watson, 21, allegedly stole over $3,200 in merchandise from the two stores on August 21, 2024.

According to DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin, the incidents began around 6:00 p.m. at Nordstrom, where Gryer and Watson allegedly stole $834 worth of clothing. Just 30 minutes later, Martinez-Pacheco and Rojas-Galea allegedly took $2,378 in merchandise from Macy’s, continuing the theft spree.

The four suspects are scheduled for arraignment in September. If convicted, they could face up to seven years in prison. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
