Illinois Motorcyclist Faces Charges for Alleged Road Rage Gun Threat

Mount Vernon, IL – A Mount Vernon man was arrested after allegedly pointing a firearm during a road rage incident on Broadway.

Officers responded at 4:58 p.m. on Thursday to reports of a motorcyclist aiming a firearm at another driver. The suspect, later identified as 57-year-old Bradley Kelley of Mount Vernon, was involved in a separate road rage incident just before this confrontation.

According to the Mount Vernon Police Department, officers located the motorcycle near South 10th Street and Main Street, initiating a traffic stop. During their investigation, they recovered a firearm from Kelley. Authorities determined Kelley had allegedly committed aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and aggravated assault with a firearm.

Kelley was arrested and transported to the Jefferson County Jail, where he awaits further legal proceedings. He is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
