Chicago, IL – Illinois residents should prepare for thunderstorms and humid weather through Thursday, with a transition to less humid conditions over the weekend. The National Weather Service in Chicago has issued a forecast detailing the upcoming weather patterns.

According to the National Weather Service, severe thunderstorms are expected late tonight and early Thursday morning, with a second round anticipated Thursday afternoon into the evening. These storms may bring damaging winds and flash flooding, and residents are advised to stay updated on weather alerts, especially those with outdoor plans.

Despite the storm activity, Thursday will see a lull in precipitation late morning, leading to warm and humid conditions with temperatures between 84 and 89 degrees. The heat index could reach the mid-to-upper 90s, but storm activity may mitigate some of the heat.

Friday will feature scattered showers, with temperatures ranging from 66 to 80 degrees. The weekend promises relief from the humidity, with partly cloudy skies on Saturday and a high near 89 degrees. Sunday will be mostly sunny with a high of 88 degrees, while Monday will see a high of 82 degrees.

As the new week begins, the weather will become cooler and less humid. Tuesday and Wednesday will feature temperatures in the low 80s to mid-70s, providing a welcome respite from the heat and humidity experienced earlier in the week.
