Chicago Braces for Waves of Thunderstorms Starting Monday Night

Chicago, IL – Waves of thunderstorms are set to hit the Chicago area starting Monday night, with the most significant activity expected on Tuesday afternoon and evening.

According to the National Weather Service, early evening showers and isolated thunderstorms will diminish tonight, leading to foggy conditions overnight into Friday. Patches of dense fog are possible before quickly dissipating in the morning. While there is a slight chance of showers or thunderstorms south of I-80 on Friday and Saturday afternoons, primarily dry and warm conditions are expected over the weekend. Cooler temperatures will prevail near Lake Michigan.

Looking ahead, Monday and Tuesday will bring increased storm activity, with scattered afternoon thunderstorms on Monday and higher thunderstorm coverage anticipated on Tuesday. Residents are advised to stay updated on weather developments.
